Elizabeth, I agree on both counts. Besides the "greats" like Austen, Dickens, Twain, and that lot, my favorite genres are carefully researched historical fiction and the really good world-building fantasies like George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire and Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. I like good detective or spy or assassin fiction like Daniel Silva (but not Dan Brown). I've had fun reading Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Although they're sort of "wish-fulfillment" (time travel, older woman/younger man, etc. etc.) they're fast-moving and often a hoot. What do you like?

I love technology, everywhere but in this area. I love books! Sounds like you do too.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I've always admired bookplates, but I've never put them in my (thousands of) books. And now, with everybody reading books on a Kindle, where would a person stick a bookplate?!

Bookplates are a reminder of the elegance of times past, that we so rarely see anymore. What a lovely collection!!
