THEME: Planes: Flying Wing: Northrup YB-49

We were sometimes lucky enough to see one soaring past overhead when we were playing in the Hollywood Hills in the mid-late Forties. It was exciting in an eerie sort of way. And yes, it definitely was a precursor to the stealth bombers.

I have never seen one except in pictures or on the shelf at the hobby store, but that one has been around for most of my life, I guess! It certainly lent some design ideas to the stealth bombers.
