houses built on roof of shopping mall, China

Been reading about this....seems these aren't to be actually used as homes for humans to live. Rather they are commercial offices...no one stated what our white rectangle was, but an architect said he'd hate to live that close to the massive air exchangers a shopping mall this size would require....so maybe that's what the rectangle is....

A greenhouse? To hide all the mechanical workings for the building...air conditioning, elevators, etc.?

The white rectangle looks like a solar panel.

wonder what that white rectangle mid roof is....landing pad?... but it looks like it is raised a bit...curious.
