The iris design goes through the center of the tablecloth from top to bottom. The pattern repeats several times. Here one can see two repeats and into a third one. For close ups of the design please see my profile page.

You are right, Dagmar. It's got some storage stains on it that I don't know how to remove or if they can be removed - not in the embroidery area. But I do need to get it out and enjoy it. I'm not getting any younger!

I once did a Christmas tablecloth and it also took me many months to complete it, but I have used it a lot, it isn't very beautiful any more and full of stains but that what it was made for. It has seen many Christmas celebrations with us until I changed the table three years ago, and now it is too small. You just use yours.

Thanks Dagmar. Believe it or not but I've never used it. I have finally found a clear plastic tablecloth to put over it and am thinking about putting it on the table. Thank you for putting a star on the board.

Finally I got round to do the irises, even though I love most flowers - it's the colours they have I suppose :)) - irises are one of my favourite flowers. This tablecloth is a wonderful work of art. Not many people nowadays would spend more than a year in completing such a beautiful thing. I suppose you only use it on very special occasions.
Thanks for showing it to us.

Thank you, Pat.

Beautiful..

Yes, that's exactly what I'd like to hear from you. Think of it as you being the teacher who is giving asked for advice or suggestions. Always, Please. My experience in the visual arts is almost non-existent. I appreciate and like what you do. I love it when you make suggestions of things to try. Thank you. Please do it for me.

Ardy, I feel a bit funny about giving you feedback on your framing here, 'cos as I was saying over on my puzzle, I ain't no expert, and I just use my own taste. So I'm only giving it, because you insisted. I would normally NEVER give another puzzle maker criticism, constructive or otherwise. Who am I to tell them what to do?

But since, you insist, I think what I would have experimented with, would have been changing the width on the inner white one, and the outer black. And made them a bit wider. I don't like everything to be perfectly symmetrical. Like in decorating they say you should always have odd numbers of things, 'cos it's more interesting. So there you go. I seriously hope you are OK with this feedback, and have only provided it because you insisted! :)))

Thanks, Michelle, but all I do is follow a pattern. You folks that create your own things are the really talented ones. But I am thinking that I'll put it out now and use it under clear plastic protection of course. :-0

Just lovely....what talent you have, my dear! Like Barb, I would be displaying it. ;-D

Aw, Jan. Thank you for your lovely comment. Wish you could see it for real. I had nothing to do with the colors or design but I loved the picture in the catalog and had to have it.

WOW, ARDY - It is even more beautiful when seen as a whole! Fabulous work and great colors and design!! YUMMY!

Liane, Thank you. That means something special from one who does so many beautiful postings.

Hanne, I don't have the exact dimensions but I can tell you when I spread it out on the double bed it covered like a bedspread but doesn't drape on the sides. Thank you for admiring it. It is the only one of two pieces that I can remember that I did for myself. The other was the bicentennial bell pull. Everything else was for someone else.

It's very pretty .I like the border .

Elfie

How big IS the tablecloth Ardy??

Elfie

But it's SO rich and SO beautiful, I've never seen anything like it before!! Thanks so very much Ardy!!

ringleader

Perhaps not but isn't it up to the master to critique the apprentice's work? And you do it so nicely. (Shouldn't you be sleeping? Let me tuck you in with one more little gentle (hug) )

It's not for me to like your framing Ardy, or not. It's up to your eye. If you like it - go with it!! We know what an excellent eye you have for colour and texture from your beautiful artwork, so you will always choose the right thing. :)))

Kirsten, that extra layer happened when I accidentally clicked on a border choice and it added another layer. I thought Wow. I like that. Then I wondered what you would think about it and if it was too much. Now I know. Thank you. I'm so glad you like it. I have not begun to master picmonkey but with your direction and help I'm having fun. Sleep well ((HUGS))

Oh, Ardy!! I don't know what I'm happier about. Your lovely iris and amazing needlework OR that you have made a coloured border with an extra layer. I'm so proud. LOL

Extra big hugs for mastering picmoney! ((HHUUGGSS)). Look at you go, girl!!

Barb, they knocked me off almost as soon as I got on (5:03). I don't usually get so many solves this quickly. I am so glad you like this little set. Without your encouragement I probably wouldn't have thought about hunting this up. Yes, I do need to have it on the table with clear plastic over it and place mats. Thank you for all your lovely comments.

I was a little late getting here, Ardy as I had to make coffee and take meds. If I had been a little earlier I might have made the board (4:37) but that's not important. What is important is the splendid work you did on this incredibly gorgeous table cloth!!! I would be using this everyday with a protective clear plastic tablecloth on top. It's just too lovely to hide away in the linen closet.
Thanks so much for posting this wonderful series!!! :-)
