Impie

Thank you Pammi ♥♥♥

Pammi

Impie, I am so sorry to hear of your dear friend's daughter's ordeal. It is hard not to feel extremely angry at the lack of care and concern that seems to be rife in hospitals everywhere these days. Staff shortages and doctors and nursing staff being overworked seem to be a universal problem but that is no consolation when it concerns your own loved ones. I am so sorry to know of your dear husband's ordeal also. I am thinking of you and sending big hugs your way. ♥♥♥

Impie

Thank you soo and nillie !♥♥

nillie

A big virtual hug from me as well!!♥♥

soo

Oh Impie I'm not surprised you felt like that. Sending you a big virtual hug from me ♥♥

Impie

Thank you nillie and Marilyn...the wounds may heal but scars remain. I'll especially call them on this day and Wendela's birthday, just to let my friend and her husband know I'm thinking of them. I told her I would post a picture for Wendela...♥

I'm glad to hear he's ok soo.

It looks like Health service is all about money and making profits these days. We had a very good health care in Holland, but efficiency and shortage of staff puts a lot of pressure on doctors and nurses and then the patients literally have to pay the price!
My hubby was admitted on CCU in 2012 but after 1 day he was tranferred to a ward because they needed his bed!! After a week he was sent home a complete wreck....after 5 days he got worse and was admitted on CCU again, he again got transferred to a ward 2 days later...there also happened a mix up with names and therefore probably also with medicines..he got sicker and sicker and 2 days later he was back on CCU... a day later he ended up on ICU where he died 36 hours later!:(

For some time after his death I had the feeling they did 'kill' him!

He is ok now Impie, thank you for asking. He is back at work and free from infection.

It doesn't give a very good impression of the health service though!

nillie

No words to describe the horror! Culpable neglect of the urgant medical service. I am terribly sorry for the young life that ceased before time, and for the people who loved her, first of all-her mother.

I am so sorry for your friend. It is awful her daughter died. Her grief must still be so strong.

Impie

Oh my goodness soo, that was a narrow escape. I'm so glad he went back to hospital and survived....it's a real nightmare when you come to think about what could've happened, isn't it? Is he doing ok now? ...

My friend didn't know that Wendela had been to A & E (the night before) with a very painfull belly . She had called 1-1-2 (your 999?) herself. Coincidental a good friend of hers is an ambulance nurse and he told my friend that Wendela was literally crawling of pain in her hallway when they arrived. In A & E she was seen and blood was taken. They found nothing wrong in her blood but she did have a dangerous low BP... yet they sent her home with Diclofenac. No ultrasound...or scan.....nothing. When my friend received a phonecall from Wendela's boss Tuesday morning asking if she knew something's the matter why she hadn't turned up for work (while she was never late) they also couldn't get hold of her on the phone. My friend immediately sensed something was very wrong and she ran to the bus and went to her place. Luckely she had a key to her appartment and when she entered and called her one of her kitties was crying/yelling and when she went up to her bedroom she found Wendela lying in bed with a book next to her hand and her other kitty at her feet! This scene is burned on my friend's retina for life!
Post-mortem proved an aneurysm had bursted and the inner side of her abdominal aorta was teared then her pericardium got full.... she literally blead to death internally.

So sad Impie and very very tragic.

A couple of months ago my partner's eldest son was having stomach pain and it got so bad his wife took him to A & E. A junior doctor saw him, didn't examine him, just said he had stomach flu and sent him home and told him to take paracetamol. In the early hours of the next morning he was in so much pain he went back to A & E, a few hours later he was in theatre, his appendix had burst and gangrene was found in his intestine. It took nearly two weeks of very strong antibiotics to clear him of infection. We are just so glad he was able to get back to hospital ..... Christopher could have lost his dad.

Impie

Thanks soo...♥ She sure was too young. She was a lovely young woman who loved life and her 2 kitties. She had picked up the pieces of a break up, finally sold their house and got a place of her own for her and her 2 kitties. I remember telling last year what caused her death (a ruptured aneurysm in her abdomen). Nobody, including herself had seen this coming! It was a tragedy.
Her kitties went to her ex!

Lovely Impie ♥ Wendela was far too young.
