New Kitty no.2

Thank you Gemstone - we love her already, even though she shows signs of being a feisty little mare! It's nice that she has some spirit! She caught a spider tonight and ate it, except for one leg - ugh!

Doglovertoo - cats do the funniest things. My previous cat, Connie, used to hide under my recliner chair in the sitting room if anyone visited. If the doorbell rang and she was upstairs, she would run down the stairs (towards the front door where the source of the potential danger was!) in order to get under the recliner! it's amazing how they seem to be able to get into the smallest spaces! My husband's motto at the moment is: "Well, if she can get her head in, then she can get her head out again" (but that doesn't allay my fears! I've taken the basket of shoes away from the bottom of the dishwasher and so far she hasn't taken any notice - would love to move all the bricks lining the loose plinths in the kitchen and utility rooms, but one thing at a time!

When my late husband first got his kitty, she hid on him for two days. She finally came out when she was hungry. Her hiding spot? There was a hole in the dust cover of his box spring, and she crawled in. Any time someone would come to visit, she would run and hide in the very same spot.

Thanks PLG and Trudy - I love her already! She is now used to most rooms in the house. It was a lovely Spring-like day here in England today, and I think she would've liked to have gone out in the garden, but can't do that yet. I'm not even sure if she's been outside before.

She is a beauty! I hope she settles in quickly and gets ready for lots of love from her new family.
