Yes, I made the hearts big and fat and flat, and by flipping them as well (so there wasn't that empty space around the pointed end), I did my best to fill the canvas with color! It's funny, because, until I hit on this solution (I made one very similar to this some time ago, but I like this version better), I always avoided using hearts for that reason--I ended up filling in the blank spaces with more, but smaller, heart designs, but I thought that that would detract sometimes from the impact of the center image.
