He's on High Street all right.

juneshone

Looks like there was a bling sale on at Ratners Tooting High Street branch

lelabugosi

Yes, he appears to be continually tooting at the moment!.....

Witzend

How enigmatically enigmatic. Frater looks to have had a toot too far.

lelabugosi

He informs me it is his wooden 'tooter' - the emblematically emblematic emblem of his not-so-secret society...........(when performing sacred rituals, he 'toots' on it.....).

Witzend

Has Frater a wooden leg or is that just some wood poking out from his cloak? Too much wilting wilt do that.

Elfie

Oh no, he shouldn't, but....your halo was down over one of you ears, I asked you to put it right!! That was all of it!!

juneshone

don't see why Lela should have a monopoly on haloes

lelabugosi

(Hee-Hee!).....

Elfie

(June, please! Your halo is slanting!!!)

juneshone

yes, one can see that those of us who have assiduously followed our glowing leader are growing in mental and moral stature each day. but, a crash course on Bugosiland can be taken any time by new or sporadic students

lelabugosi

david-many-numbers-not-here........Nice to see you back and not back again!...I hope you find a little time to read the past ramblings and thus further your education......You are a very promising student, and I am sure one day you will go very far by following the precepts of Bugosiland.......

Robbiel

Hey mate, good to see you!

juneshone

Hi David nice to see you, oh he's gone again.

patsquire

Zip in - - - zip out, it's OK, as long as we get to say hi once in a while!

Plumpossum

Welcome back, too-long-missing friend!

Plumpossum

Yay!!!

david06520

Clearly, He Has His Charms....

View Halloooo all you long-missed loony-tunes. I am above water for harf-a-mo. Hope to find time to catch up soon.
Cheers!

gemstone

But will he rest happy...ScreamQueen has posted a puzzle on Boris Karloff but none on Bela Lugosi?

Surreal_Heidi

Happy Birthday, Bela Lugosi. Rest in Peace. You deserve a good rest.

Elfie

Oh - thanks!! For a moment I thought he WAS Dracula!! I don't know if I understand better really, but somehow - well, "Götterdämmerung" somewhere!!

lelabugosi

Hanne, the character of Dracula was just the part Bela Bugosi played to earn his living, before being upstaged by that nasty Boris Barloff.......

juneshone

patience my dear elfish one, your turn will come

Elfie

Thanks for the info, but what about Dracula??

lelabugosi

On this auspicious date, to be forever remembered in an auspicious way. I would like to direct our friends to this beautiful portrait of my ancestor, 'Nipper' Bugosi, who is 130 years old today......

Hanne-with-pipe.....Yes, this is our Dr.Adonis.........
Was-shining...he visits me on a regular basis.....
Mr.Squirt....Thank you (sort of) for the reminder........
Raincoat-infusion.......He already has piercings in places not visible.....

Elfie

I'm sorry to say that I'm absolutely puzzled! Help!! Is this Frater our dr. Adonis?? And how is his connection to Dracula??? Give me some gnomes, trolls, fairies and elves and I'll understand, but these circumstances are beyond me without further explanation!!

juneshone

but does he still get unburied at night?

patsquire

R.I.P. Bela Lugosi, born October 20, 1882, died August 16, 1956.

He was born Be'la Ferenc Dezso Blasko in Lugos, Austria-Hungary (now Lugoj, Romania) . The youngest of four children. During WWI, volunteered and was commissioned as an infantry lieutenant. Wounded three times.

He arrived in New York City in December, 1920, where he made Dracula a hit on the Broadway stage, learning all his lines phonetically as he spoke so little English. Became an American citizen 1931. Father of Bela Lugosi Jr. (1938), still a practicing Los Angeles attorney. Helped organize the Screen Actors Guild in the mid-30's, joining as Charter Member no. 28. Died at age 73, a drug-addicted pauper, of a heart attack in 1956.

He was buried in his full Dracula costume, including the cape.

A moment of silence, please.

patsquire

Is this the "hairy headed gent, who ran amok in Kent?" If so, "You better stay away from him. He'll rip your lungs out, Jim!" Remember, "Little old lady got mutilated late last night." So watch out!

teamac

At this rate, he may have to consider piercings to make more room for the jewels.

lelabugosi

I am baffled and bemused by it all........uncle/dr./frater says his worldly possessions mean nothing to him, yet he is buying more and more jewellery every day....................Sweetlittleoldgranny is eager to join the Order.....

Robbiel

Hey Lela, could Frater be perhaps a walking pawn shop?!

juneshone

timor mortis conturbat me, I'll be there but I'm keeping my clothes on you will be glad to know, how about SLOG? Meanwhile off up the wooden hill, have fun all

jignut

TOOTERS....... Hee hee ...Snort!

lelabugosi

It is with astonished amazement, surprise, and dumbfoundedness that I feel obliged to announce that Uncle/Dr.Adonis B.Bugosi has formed a not-so-secret society, which he has named The Order Of The Enigmatic Relic safekeepers (T.O.O.T.E.R.S.)..........He is henceforth to be known as Frater Perturbado.......
What seems to have started all this is that uncle/dr./frater has come into possession of an ancient relic, which he claims has magical powers, and is a gift of the gods........
The Order will hold its first not-so-secret meeting on the night of Samhain, in the canteen of the D.O.L.L.S. House, (appropriate clothing must be worn, but can be discarded as the evening goes on)........
Frater Adonis/Perturbado is pictured in the High St. of Bonga-Bonga, doing his shopping.....
