We went for a walk, came to one of the many ponds in the area and were so lucky to see this crayfish walking around on the bottom of it...

Elfie

They are awfully good - !! But well, they probably had good lives... :D

Plumpossum

There was a little stream not far from the house where I grew up that had crayfish in it. That stream provided a lot of amusement, but it never occurred to me, or to my family, to eat the crayfish!

Elfie

I DO think it's very special to be able to SEE one - so we take it as a gift.. Thanks so very much Ank!! :))))

Lobsters are much bigger, aren't they? This fellow is about 5 inches long... Thanks so very much Jacki!!

bluebird42

I have seen lobsters in the waters around here, but never crayfish. This is wonderful! Thank you so much!

puzzeljac

Wow, great photo Hanne. I never saw one too. (alive)☺

Elfie

Luckily the water was rather clear here and very shallow, it was very fine to see.. Thanks so very much Edna!! :))))

miztarefet

Lovely photo - not easy to take and get the image under water !
Thanks' for posting dearest Hanne and Bent .

Elfie

I haven't seen them alive either - only dead and boiled, and they taste awfully good!! But to see one was a precious gift - and we followed it until it hid behind some stones on the bottom... Thanks so very much Ardy! :))))

Such clear water. I don't remember ever seeing a crayfish before. I've read about them but not seen one. Thanks Hanne & Bent. Really good to be traveling with you again.
