My mother loved this plant; she would dry them and use them in dried floral arrangements or as an arrangement in a vase. They turn a little darker when dried and last quite a few years; you can also spray them with a clear paint and they last almost forever.
They are SO invasive that one group came up where it was planted but the other 3 huge clumps came up in spots where 3 other things had been planted. I will never know if the other 3 died of natural causes or if these lanterns snuffed them out! I am going to have to pick most all of them by the roots at the end of the season. Maybe move to woodland edges?
