That's a very good question, ianwill! This was actually just 8 or 10 rectangles overlapping, but then I kept cutting out thin slices and moving them to a new place. After about 2 dozen of those slices were cut out, many of the rectangles were more like fat lines--and so were the slices, of course! :-)))

At what point do skinny rectangles become fat lines? :) thanks for another toughie!
