I didn't know that anything had happened to your arm, Mary. What happened?
Oh...laughing....don't count on me to give you the extra push. I hate doctors of any kind. Maybe if we pushed each other though. No, that won't work either. lol
Oh, yes, Wendy! Get the cataracts removed. I know I have what they call "early cataracts" so if I needed more Lasik I think that would be out. I need to go to the eye doc, but I spend so much time getting this arm healed it's just going to have to wait. Just got back from having xrays taken so I can take them when I go to the ortho surgeon Tuesday, and I start back on physical therapy tomorrow, after having some nice time off during and after the cruise!
Keep me posted on your cataracts. I'll bet you inspire me to finally get to the eye doctor. I always need a push!
Hi again, Mary! I'm so happy that you enjoyed this one. It's one of my favorites (because of the rules). :-)
I'm so glad that you just mentioned Lasik surgery because I just looked it up and the very first link I came across stressed that it's not for people with cataracts. But the good thing is that it got me to thinking again about getting my cataract(s) removed. We have a little money now, so I just might do it...scared as I am that something might go wrong.
I'm so glad I'm too dumb to know anything about making comments on old puzzles because I've got a backlog that is horrendous now. I'll have the weekend to work it when that finally gets here because our Dog Appointment isn't until a WEEK from Saturday, but I'll just be bookmarking more and more each day! LOL 6:09 Wonderful puzzle, Wendy! So creative.
The contact comments made me soooo glad I had the lasix surgery! 20-15 vision in both eyes with no glasses or contacts anymore! Cost a lot but so worth it. I never had a problem, don't believe those folks who say people have problems. If you do, they're there to fix them for you! I really do not miss all that lens cleaner and stuff! LOL
Whoa! w84, I update every single puzzle of mine at least once every 4 days!
That is why I know that you, and others, wait a few days before solving most of them. There are about 8 of you who do that on a consistent basis on my puzzles. And then there are some others who do lots of my old ones...so I'm always updating to keep a good record. Unfortunately, because my hand is really hurting right now, I haven't updated for about 6 days...the longest I've ever gone without doing it.
Please explain what you're talking about when you said, "got a few not so nice remarks (the unspoken rule about making remarks on old puzzles I guess)." I guess you can't tell me who wasn't nice...but that sure is strange. And I don't think there is any unspoken rule about leaving comments on old puzzles. Maybe there is though, and I don't know!
Hi Wendy!!!! I think I do remember that you had a list but I didn?t think you went back this many days to update it. I don?t look at the best time before I solve because it actually makes me slower because I tense up trying to beat the time?. I can usually get on the board but very seldom am I first? but I have to admit I do like it if I beat the fast solver on the list?.. I'm not waiting to solve because I want to.... I had allot of outside work to do this summer and got further and further behind solving the puzzles and then got a few not so nice remarks (the unspoken rule about making remarks on old puzzles I guess) so for the most part, I quit leaving remarks?.. but, as you can tell, I couldn?t resist letting you know that this one was just too great to not remark. So I?ll also let you know that I REALLY appreciate that you don?t mind people coming to the party late.
w84- Hi!!! You probably know that I maintain a database which now includes all the top ten lists. You are on tons of the lists! And you have three top spots but unfortunately one of those puzzles was removed by Jigidi's programming. You do what I used to do. I used to wait a few days before solving, but maybe for a different reason. I liked to see who had the top spot after a few days and the person's time. I knew how fast I could usually solve certain type puzzles, so if I thought I wouldn't be fast enough, I wouldn't solve it....unless I absolutely loved the puzzle.
Thank you for dropping by to let me know you liked my rules...and the comments about them. :-)
This was simply ingenious Wendy.... and the banter that followed was quite refreshing..... thanks for the LOL
I'm so glad that you finally saw this puzzle, PJ. When my hand gets better, I'm going to create another game...because this was loads of fun. :-)
Wendy - I love it.
Your set of rules is a fantastic hilarious wonderful ironic contrast to usual rules. You should publish it somewhere.
Thank you everyone, I have read all the comments twice and laughed my head off (or something).
That's right, Kathy. ;-)
Ah, you can tell that I know nothing about contacts LOL LOL LOL
Oh, Kathy, when I was young, I would lose a contact often...and I didn't want anyone else to look for it because I was afraid someone would step on it. So I'd run my hand lightly over the surface in slow, sweeping motions to make sure I wouldn't scratch it if I found it. If you convinced people to look for your contact while you were busy stacking the counters, then...well then, they deserved to lose. LOL
Mr. Bugosi, the shed is hidden. I suppose that's another strategic point I should have brought up. What you do is challenge a person to the game but don't let that person know where the shed is. Of course, you'll have to be prepared in advance, by finding the shed before you do the stacking.
Right, I'm outside......but I can't find the shed........is it an inside-outside shed by any chance?.....
Ah, but with the missing contact, it is very hard to see, so my chances of finding it would be slim to none....and by not being able to see well, I might accidently crush the poor little thing. Hence, it would be better if there were others looking for it. LOL LOL LOL
Mr. Bugosi, it may be true that drinks were being consumed in the games room, but this particular game can only be played in the outside shed.
I suppose I should have mentioned this in the rules section.
No, no, no.......it wasn't at the same time......
When I eventually got up, I went home to clean myself up.......I returned today for another go, and decided out of courtesy to help looking for the missing (non-existent) contact......little did I know it was a ruse!........
I can also assure you that drinks WERE being consumed in the games room.....
Mr. Bugosi, once again, things do not add up. You previously stated that, ".... I slipped on the ice, and fell into loads of stacked counters.......did I win?....."
If you were under the table looking for Kathy's lost contact for 6 hours, how could you at the same time have been slipping around on ice. And besides, drinks were not allowed in the room at any time.
I have just spent 6 hours under the table, looking for a non-existent contact.......
Mr. Bugosi, I never said anything about allowing drinks anywhere near the puzzle. The whole point of the strategy was to get the opponent out of the room. But you're right in that there is no one like you....not even close. :-)
Kathy, do you think that anyone is going to be helping you look for your contact if you're not looking for it as well? That MIGHT have been a strategy for you to use against an opponent who was completely dense, but not against anyone else. LOL
Uh oh.........one of my contacts fell out.......Sending out SOS for help in locating it. I think it went under the table. HeHeHeHe......has anyone found it yet?............Oh look..........I just won the game..... Sure appreciate everyone's help looking for the contact.....hehehehe :-)
Well, I don't think drinks of any kind should be allowed while the game is in progress....it's not fair to people like me.....oh, hold on....maybe there aren't any people like me!....
It really was fun, Katie. And I thoroughly enjoyed creating this with the pieces. I was laughing out loud as I made up the rules. And I can't believe that you tricked me but you did! :-)
I think we need more games. Look how much fun we had with this one! And I'm glad I fooled you by asking for coffee instead of the ice water mentioned in the rules. ;-)
Pat, I thought it was really funny too!
Katie, I can't believe it! When you asked for a cup of coffee, I was clueless why you asked for it. I would lose the game for sure!
Ardy, you won the game as well! I went to bed shortly after I posted the puzzle. I'm sorry that I didn't see your request sooner. I hope after you won that you took the time to get a cup of tea.
Mandy, thank you! I think it's pretty cool as well. :-)
Mr. Bugosi, the big question is- Did you stack all the counters, and were they in the center of the board at any point in time? If yes, then you won too.
whatnauts, I just read your comment. So please tell Mr. Bugosi that he didn't win.
Mr. Bugosi, life is not fair.
While Lela was messing up the board and trying to get up, I came in and won the round.
I couldn't see the centre of the board, as it was covered in coffee and tea stains......that's when I slipped on the ice, and fell into loads of stacked counters.......did I win?.....
Wendy, this is genius!!! I totally love it!!!
Umm, yes I read the rules first.....hence, my request to get you away from the game board!
Hi Wendy. It's chilly today so I'd like a cup of tea, please, rather than ice water. Aha, I finished the game in 4:14. I WIN!!
Katie, did you read the game rules??? They're pretty funny. While you read them, I'll get your cup of coffee. ;-)
Good morning Wendy, would you please get me a cup of coffee?
1) Toss the dice to see who goes first. Please note that the dice have 6 pips on every side, so if there's a problem figuring out who goes first, then there will be a big waste of time before the game can start.
Keep in mind that this game should last less than 5 minutes.
2) Toss the dice again. This time aim for the wastebasket.
3) Figure out which pieces are yours.
4) Get your pieces stacked one upon the other in the center of the game board.
5) The winner is the one who completes the stacking first.
6) Strategy Hint- Ask your opponent to get you a glass of ice water. This will give you time alone to do the stacking. The time alone will also give you time to figure out which pieces are yours.
