White House China

The president, for whom this china was purchased, really liked "red" and often called on Helen Thomas at press conferences because she wore a red dress.

Theodore Roosevelt's wife Edith was the first to gather samples of presidential china in 1904. She collected what pieces she could from the previous 25 presidents and displayed them in specially-made cabinets in the White House.

Many sets of china have graced the White House tables over the years. This president's administration purchased a new set for over 200 place settings. Can you guess which administration? This president liked "red."
