You see this kind of farms often in NL and I agree they are nice.
Great picture! Thank you Ank. Interesting to read about the head-neck-trunk farm design !
Thanks Katie, Patty and Suzy. Glad you like it. In the past they did not use this herringbone pattern, nowadays you see it more often. It looks nice.
Beautiful thanks Sis
So interesting to read about the different parts of the building. There are still several brick streets in Columbus, Ohio. I don't remember seeing any made with the herringbone pattern so I'll have to go look again. Thanks Ank!
1784 is the year of building. So 229 years old. Most streets are like this, continuous main roads are mostly with asphalt. At your service madam. I'm glad I could find that date. lol
Wow! I wonder how old this building is! It needs a lot of love and care that's for sure! I sure love the roads there! Are they all made of brick like this one? This is so wonderful, so very beautiful!
In the back is the barn, mostly for the cattle. So they can go through the house to the stable. In the front is the living part, between the work part. Kitchen, storage of the milk buckets (at least as it was before, when they still hand milked). Mostly the roof of that middle part is some lower. They are called "head-neck-trunk- farm".
Love the buildings, moss on the roof and the paved street. Thank Ank. Is the back edition a barn or part of the living space?
Thanks Jan and Hanne. Jan I promise you there will come later villages with canals, now anything else. Funny Hanne, somethings are so much the same and others so much else. Thanks for the nice comments friends.
It's just very spectacular, and SO different to our farms!! Thanks so very much Ank!!
Quite nice, do miss those beautiful canals.
Thanks Shirley. I find it funny that something that is so normal in the Netherlands, so unknown in the rest of the world.
I too love your paved streets, they are lovely. Thanks Ank.
Good morning Lorna. that is a comment I often see. We are used to it, we don't know better. But since I see this comments I have come to appreciate it. Thanks and have a nice day
Good morning Ank. I love these paved streets, so much more attratctive than our usual road surfaces.
Hi Jana, Yes we are in Europe, and there is lot the same. Hugs friend.
These houses are a bit similar to our villages, thank you Ank, very much.
