Amazing Athletes

Glad you came out fine and continued on with your adventures on horseback. Nowadays, I'm quite content with a slow gentle trail ride on a slow gentle horse.

Whoa that was bad! I did not break one bone and my horse was fine as well. We were very lucky but I will never forget my fear when we hit the ground. My old lady dressage lessons are just fine to keep me and my horse in shape for the trail.

I know that, canoekaw. When I was 17, I crashed while barrel racing. Someone let off a horn just as I was deep into the turn, and my baby spooked, lost her balance and came down on top of me and the barrel. I smashed quite a few bones for that little adventure. Oh well, at least you recover quickly at 17.

The rider's body is over the correct side of the horse to help it not tip over. I caused a horse to tip over out of youthful ignorance. It is a scary thing when the horse and rider land on the ground together.

Am amazed this pony was able to maintain its footing, it looks like he is ready to tip over. And yet, KC is in the middle of a heat wave - I check this morning and it was 62 degrees at about 8 a.m. Yikes. One dry hot summer coming up.

We didn't see any, but then, we weren't under the center canvas with the lah-di-dahs. However, Jack was pretty impressed with the collection of high end automobiles in the parking lot.
