Mmm! Sharon fruits! We call them Sharon fruits here in England cos when you cut through them there is a star shape seed pattern inside, like the star of Sharon. You have to cut them sideways not length ways to get the pattern.
The ones here in Southern Illinois have sort of a sweet orange flavor. They are not firm, but rather mushy. Good for recipes like persimmon bread. They do sell them in grocery stores Gary.
They taste wonderfully, they are sweet and not very juicy but rather. Where do you live Gary? I live in Bornholm and we can have lots of them in the supermarket! Thanks so very much Sandy!!
They look good enough to eat for sure, ask your nephew if we can all come to his place and have a tree picking party! Fun, fun, fun, thanks Sandy, these were really great pic's but now you've made me very hungry so I have to go and feed my empty belly! L.O.L.
