Hi Lorna. He is a bit nasty looking, isn't he? There are a few amimal sculptures around but there are other things too so I don't think it's a theme.

It is just a bit too realistic - I'm not sure about the look in its eyes! Great photo Cathy. Are animal sculptures a Vancouver trademark?

Not going to discontinue the cannon after 60 plus years. I can remember it as a child and I'm way over 60. Once visitors discover what it is they want to be there to watch it go off. Thanks for posting the bear, by the way.

Yes, seriously I worry about poor unsuspecting tourists! The other thing that startles them is the canon in Stanley Park which is fired every evening at 9 o'clock. All the locals on the seawalk look at their watches to see if they are accurate and all the tourists look around frantically. I honestly think it should be discontinued.

OK, Cathy. A realistic bear AND a realistic bull AND dense fog. Poor unaware tourists are all going to have heart attacks! LOL!
