Ouch... such memories from my childhood near Toronto during the war. We saw two or three of these beautiful creatures that I can recall... and Luna Moths! Large, soft lime green sometimes about in the late evening.

Many years later in another life, we lived 100 miles north of Toronto ... out in the countryside. We received an electric bug light for our deck as a gift. Beside the mosquitos and blackflies, the light (or the bugs) also collected a number of Kingbirds who would come in to help clean up... and many nights - LUNA MOTHS! One morning I counted 28 collected on the walls around the deck. Oh that I had had the presence of mind to look for my camera.
