Love this one thanks Lorna .. Hugs
It is a great idea. Thanks pkh
What a great way to show the history that goes with the tree. Thanks, gs!
Thanks Ank, and you're welcome. You too Jan!
Thank you, Lorna!
Love it Lorna, thanks for telling us and indeed, that last is amusing.
Sorry - I'd hoped it could be read when zoomed in. It says the tree was estimated to be 155 years old when felled in 2007. Some of the notable events shown are; First man on moon 1963, wartime food rationing ended 1954, D Day landings 1944, American troops camped in Painswick 1943, Lindbergh flies Atlantic 1927, Scott reaches South Pole 1912, death of Queen Victoria 1901, Abraham Lincoln President USA 1861, and some local history; last Painswick woolen mill closed 1870, 16 ale houses and 6 beer houses in Painswick 1891 (!), first telephone installed 1910, electricity came to Painswick 1930, and what amused me the most - from Painswick war records in 1941, 1 megaphone, 7 shotguns, 1 horse, and 16 wheelbarrows available for emergencies!
I was thinking the same thing.
Great photo - but I want to read the labels. Waaah!
