Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (1)
Built between 1795 and 1805 by Thomas Telford. The aqueduct is 307m long and 38.40m above the River Dee. The cast iron trough is 3.61m wide and 1.30m deep with a tow path on one side. Interestingly, the mortar for the piers was a mixture of lime, oxen blood and water.
