Built between 1795 and 1805 by Thomas Telford. The aqueduct is 307m long and 38.40m above the River Dee. The cast iron trough is 3.61m wide and 1.30m deep with a tow path on one side. Interestingly, the mortar for the piers was a mixture of lime, oxen blood and water.

So glad you like the aqueduct, the trip across is not for the faint hearted! Ank, I can understand why you it is hard for you to imagine, to me the canals and water management of NL is fascinating.

Very nice and interesting. So this one is going over a river. It's hard for me to imagine because everything in NL is flat. But it is beautiful and this old, just wonderful. Thanks
