Kathy, I don't think that I should be talking to you, as you beat me!LOL
Very good time. The challenge and those last few minutes, as you near the end of the jig, are so rewarding!! I've not been called "sir" in a long time!! LOL
Oh, and now comes the next challenge . . . choosing which one to do next! Oh dear, so many to choose from. Thanks for the suggestion pdevredis. I've bookmarked the gemetric rec's and sky one. And gypsywest tends of have a variety of yummy ones. Not to mention "wheels" right here, with all those great, vibrant colours. Hmmmm......
Pat, we always seem to find the same puzzles. That puzzle is in my bookmarks. I finished this blue beast last night and started the candy monster (and it is definitely a monster). It seems as though I keep working monster after monster with a few puzzles here and there from you and Hanne. I think I may need my head examined. LOL!
I took a break with this puzzle--it's not a monster by any means, but it was fun to do the combo of rigidly geometric recs and no-pattern sky. If anyone else needs a rest, I recommend it! LOL!
We thought the same thing on the gold monster. Then they suddenly started appearing on the board. Maybe it's taking them a long time too. I'm sure Kathy and Pat will be along shortly.
Oh yes, you will definitely beat my time. It took me nearly 3 hours to get to 33%. Right now, I am nearly 6 hours in and only 55%. I like the puzzle, but it's not liking me. LOL!
Kathy, angel1993 made a monster candy puzzle. The name is not in english, so I don't know what it means. If I ever get brave enough to work it, I am sure it would be a monstrous beast for all of us.
John, this puzzle is turning out much harder than I imagined. Perfect for a snowy day off work. Thank you.
I know, Aishah! You just appealed to my own inner nuttiness!! :-)) What is the candy monster? ... Yikes, like I need another one!! I have a dozen of your older ones bookmarked already!!
Oh, Pat - just finished your freehand tiles monster. Loved it!!
Of course we'd be well past insane to even consider it! LOL!!! But that won't stop us! I also have it bookmarked, and I'm still trying to decide what to solve, and in which order......
Kathy, I'm not sure I exactly shamed you into the gold monster. I just wanted you to come enjoy the torture with me. LOL! I have to say that this monster is turning meaner by the minute. I am nearly 3 hours in and only at 33%. Yikes! Pat, you are definitely right about the patterns sometimes being distracting (and it was in the gold monster). BTW, what did you decide on that candy monster? I'm thinking I would be well past insane to even consider it. And yet I saved it just in case.
Thanks, Kathy! I've started this puzzle, and I'll see how it goes before I decide on which other one to do next, Hanne's or the gold fabric one. Hmmmm.... maybe I should stop doing this one and just try the gold one, since that seems to be the monster-to-end-all-monsters so far! LOL!
I agree with you completely, Pat! That's why this one will be on the back burner ... because I'm struggling through the gold fabric monster! John and Aishah shamed me into it, but I can't handle more than one hunt-and-peck special:-)) There are just too many good puzzles including monsters out there! I followed your comments and checked on the irjeni mosaic; did it in 81 pieces and decided to pass on the 400-pc, may try the 225-pc. I did Hanne's monster "it suddenly appeared" (I think that's the name) and it was great, much more challenging than expected but do-able!
Okay--I wasn't really sure, since people on Jigidi have told me I "rant", when all I think I'm doing is explaining myself clearly and fully..... :-)))
Anyway, what did you think about my point? I know that I have done puzzles that were impossible to solve in any way other than by using the shapes of the pieces faster than ones of the same size where I got distracted by trying to use the pattern or colors as a clue...
I've been doing other monsters, by Aishahm and irjeni and even by me, and I missed that one of yours, too. But I did check it out yesterday after I found and solved your Splat, and I saw the times posted..... HA!!!!!! I really do swear that a puzzle in that many pieces but all a solid color would have faster times. I know I've said it before, but I've seen the times on those solid ones, and people go faster because they are never distracted by (usually futile) attempts to match patterns and colors. And with a solid color, the shapes of the knobs and cutouts are easier to see, and that's all you can use to solve either kind, when all is said and done...
