jayhawk has it right, AZ used to do a lot of copper and silver mining. This was a vat that molten metal was poured from into either molds or other vats for making alloys
It is located at an old mine in Apache Junction, AZ.
Knowing the location might be helpful. Is it in iron country or copper country or near cities with steel mills?
It looks like something mining companies might have poured a liquid metal out of into some sort of transporting vehicle..
Yup, could be. Thanks!!
Looks a bit like one of those coin separators you can use to sort pennies, dimes, etc., for rolling--but for REALLY big coins...!
