I made these kaleidoscopes from freely available images of Slinkies. Remember Slinkies? I never had one when I was a kid, but boy !! Did I covet my friend's ones!

This is what they looked like when I was a kid:

But now they are made from plastic and come in amazing colours!!

I use a variety of programs to make my kaleidoscopes, recolour the backgrounds and assemble them into a collage. Each 3x3 collage takes around 2 hours to make.

It gives me immense pleasure making them, and I hope it gives you pleasure solving them. :-)

I love that one too, Dagmar! I'm so glad you had fun with it. I had a blast making it! :)))

I had to google what sinkies were, and from the kaleidos I would never have guessed, but after knowing where they came from you can clearly see it. The orange one in the middle row spectacular, with its slinky petal flower. :))
Thanks for the fun and the colours to brighten the day. :))

Thanks Suzanne! It was complete serendipity discovering these. My plan was to make some kaleidos out of the metal slinkies as a funny take on this week "spring" theme. But then I found these gorgeously coloured ones! Lucky me. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed them too. :)))

So fun, Kirsten!!! Who da thunk they were Slinkys!! They're so bright and vibrant. (I had the grey metal one--definitely dates me.) Very cool, though. Thanks for posting : )
