George is a lovely dog - everything I've heard about Greyhounds is good and seems to be true. What a delightful companion he must be!

Thanks Ank. This is my other dog George, Tana is my avatar - pure coincidence that they have similar markings! I can let Tana off the lead, because she will come back and because she doesn't have the strong chase instinct that George has.

Tana is a beauty. And yes they go fast. When I see my neighbourdog running I always think fffffffffffffffttttttttttttt..I don't think you're crazy for renting such a field. I should do too if I could not let him free. But where I live I should let him run free. Not dangerous. And they come back, they know where they live and where they belong. But first times you let them go it's scary.

I have the same problem with this one chickiemama. I now rent a field with a dog-proof enclosure within it, just so he can have a run off the lead. Am I crazy or what?!

Many yrs. ago I had an Afghan hound. I could never let her off the leash even though I lived in the country, because she would see something in the distance and be gone!
