Theme: Planes, Trains & Ships

No fun at all. Fortunately, my oldest children were old enough to watch the younger ones if need be. But they never seemed to call at convenient times. : )

Oh Wow - we've worked in some similar environments. I did quite a few years with the 24/7 on-call, and I still have flashbacks from that! LOL!!

I haven't either, Kathy. When I worked for Toyota, I dealt with imported products, that was ships. And then I worked as the liaison between what is now known as DHL and the FAA regarding plane maintenance. I loved that job and hated it. It paid well and the job wasn't hard, but it was stressful and I was on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When they called, I had to go. Otherwise, they could ground the plane(s) in question. And way back in the day, I worked in the accounting dept for a produce distribution center. I was responsible for fuel taxes (there's a lot more to it than you would think) and licensing for all of the company owned trucks. . So I've done trucks, ships and planes, but no trains. : )

I haven't worked with train transportation very much - everything is in too much of a hurry, and the trains aren't too flexible!
