Huge Herriot fan! The books were great and so was the tv series. Have you read the son's book? I believe it is titled something like "Herriot's World".

Thank you all for your comments. Books were my best friend growing up. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed these books. Doing this little walk down memory lane is fun, and I'm glad so many of you are enjoying it too.

What a fantastic writer - compassionate and witty. Loved them all. I still have "Every Living Thing", published in 1992. I have it out to read again. Thanks Jawz - thanks for so many happy book memories you've brought us.

Reread all seven of his books that I have over the summer. Loved the TV show they did on PBS based on them too.

Read the whole series years ago and loved it. Thanks for reminding me, might be time to reread it.
