He wrote "Good fences make good neighbors" in Mending Wall, published in 1914. Regarding fences, Ben Franklin is credited with the statement: “Love thy neighbor, yet don’t pull down your hedge.”

A teacher of English, who I used to sub for, would give a daily quote that students had to respond to on a small slip of paper. One of the quotes was "something there is that doesn't love a wall." It is another line from Robert Frost's poem, "Mending Wall."

One of her students responded in a very concise statement: "Humpty Dumpty." : )

A great poet and a very wise man.
He is buried in the Old Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Vermont. We pass the cemetery frequently.....I will have to stop sometime and take a photo of his gravestone.
