It began as a field stone house....as the family grew the main house was added..it may of had electric...that was made in the basement under the main house...I know of a house in Iowa that still has its room full of glass battery's left from the early days of electric made from the wind mill that also pumped the water into a storage tank to provide running water for the house.....and about five miles away is a wind farm...Electric has come full circle back to wind power it started with..............
Same person, mariolyn, I post larger puzzles under my other profile -:) I think you enjoy ALL puzzles, anitas - I see your name everywhere and I think you're just SO sweet -:) Because of the size of this old 2-storey, I could imagine a large family living here at some stage but it would take an enormous amount of money to get it back to its original state. I think perhaps bulldozing it would be a cheaper option, OMM -:)
I feel a loss when the past is gone, but this building and others like it probably cost too much to repair and 'update' with full electricity and plumbing. Plus the actual structure would probably require a total replacement of materials.
Still, it's sad to see the past gone forever. People actually lived there and loved, suffered and triumphed. And laid the ground work for what we have.
