Love it! Thanks!

I knew it was a woodpecker just by looking at it, though we only seem to get the greater spotted and lesser spotted ones here. I love the mottled wings and bright red head. You get some wonderful birds in your garden, LJ. I'm enjoying catching up with bird pics and puzzles tonight!

A great collection of our feathered friends you get in your yard. Now that we are catless the birds are starting to come around more and more each day. Huger is a great motivator and makes for better pictures. Nice group of birds LJ.

Thanks for your comments, Pat, aggie, chickie, Nana, Michelle and gnt! I love the call of the red bellied woodpecker. It's more like a shrill. Loud, too!

Very nicely done, Laura. I've yet to see the Red Bellied in person (though they are around this area) so it's a treat to share yours. The Grackles are very common around here...mind you, we often see more than one since they seem to like being in each others company!

Beautiful birds, Laurajane! I don't think we have those, but I'm not a bird watcher so I could have missed them. I'll just say I've never seen them on my deck! Ha! Thanks for this great photo!

chickiemama

Colorful little fellows.
