Perhaps it is a red bud surrounding a cardinal?
our area is forecasted to get between 12-18 inches.. Naturally, we are on the NH coast for a few days and will miss the storm at home :( looks like a rain event here in Portsmouth.

Hi PG and snooker. Thank you for your comments! We were supposed to have 2-4 inches of snow today, but the front went south of us. It hit chickiemama, but we didn't get so much as a flake. Grrrrr....

Hi wolflady. Dusk is when I get them, too. but now it's only about 2 or 3. The cardinal in this photo came yesterday morning, oddly enough.

I have a lot of cardinals, and really enjoy them, especially at dusk, they seem to come in
droves. Thanks for the picture.

Maryrob, I had 18 cardinals about 4 or 5 years ago. Now I have only 2 or 3. One male and a few females. I miss them!
Chickie...no snow where I am. Nothing. They were telling us 2-4 inches. The storm must have moved further south than what they first thought.
