Ah, the behavior that LuluK is describing is like the red squirrel we have here in North America. The problem with them getting into attics and eaves is especially bad. They can be very destructive.
Yes, they're cute and fun to watch, but they have the same habits as their first cousins, the common rat!! They chew incessantly !!! They get in eaves and attics and make a mess, not to mention garages. They dig in lawns in an effort to "squirrel away" food for the winter. They even chew holes in the fiberglas trash containers here in the city. We have a superabundance of them this year- red, black, grey, and even a couple albino ones. Last winter was very mild with little snow...
They ARE beautiful, Graciela. But I`ve never known them to be destructive. But then, I only see them 3 weeks a year during my vacation in the woods.
They ruining your yard???
