Thanks for visiting Dagmar. These are so very lovely when they are in bloom. Hope you get some sleep soon so you can get through your Tuesday. Night night.
I didn't know this type of laurel either, but it is beautiful. I love all flowers, I suppose it's because of the colours. :))), the more the better, but I also like the tiny ones that turn out to be very special when you look at them more closely. Thanks a lot for some delicate fun in the nighttime. :))) Enjoy the rest of your evening and have a great day tomorrow.
Not up close. The cup is small and "freckled" inside. The buds are like tiny stars closed up or like the rosebuds that are cake decoration in icing. Colorwise yes, they do remind one of rhododendrons. Thanks for coming by.
I certainly would like to join, Ardy!! They are terrific - do they remind a bit about rhododendrons? How lucky you are to be able to go and look at such beauties!! Thanks so very much!!
Thanks, Ank. When you find them in huge clumps on the mountain they are really spectacular. At this higher elevation they are usually at their best from early to mid June.
