Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Here is the next progress report of my baby robins. They are one week old today, having hatched on Mother's Day. I can only see three babies...oh wait...is that another one under the one in the front? I think I see a head and an eye. Taken Sun, May 18, 2014 in Litchfield, IL,

Thanks, LJ for braving the dive bombing mama... It's such fun to see these little guys grow... Starting to look like real birds... (。◕‿◕。)

Wow Laura, this is a great picture, thanks for bringing the early nature to us,
Willy.

They sure are filling the nest now, I can see the fourth one, he must have been the fourth to hatch as he doesn't have the down on his head yet like the others.

smllpkg101

Looking more and more like birds. Amazing how fast they grow.

laurajane

Gemstone...thank you for the link. That is amaziing. How those babies can fit into that tiny nest, I'll never know!

I really appreciate all the great comments! Thanks, Morris, Janet, Rosie, Faye, Patti, Sharon, Cathy, Suzy, TwoClubs and Toto! They sure are getting big and are changing all the time!

Toto

What a difference a week makes, the nest is getting quite full of growing babies.

twoclubs

Oh you have four for sure. My baby robin was alone and just left the nest this morning. Mom or dad kept finding little worms and he seemed very relaxed. No chirping "more more more". Have fun Laurajane

pumpkinhead

The colors are changing and MAN, they are getting big!

Your babies made me think of another excellent link to some hummingbird babies...complete with videos at the end:

Fun.

We had a nest of robins in the tree with limbs close to an upstairs window about 4 years ago. Not all the babies left at once. They seemed to take a day or two between departures.

I eventually stopped opening the shade on that window because it seemed to startle the mother robin. I could peak at them from the side, and I could also see the nest from another window, but not as well.

Yes, they are growing quickly. Poor mother bird - being so protective. Wonderful pics, Laura, hugs, janet

morris186

How quickly they grow.

laurajane

So far the mother is not abandoning her babies due to my picture taking, for that I am thankful!

I appreciate you coming along for the journey, Lorna, Floyd, Florrie, Snooker, Ardy, Donnebrook and Moon!

moon8962

amazing new lives, coming along well. Thanks for the update, Laura.

Brockley

Lovely! Thanks for the update. I only see 3.

I think there are four there, Laura. Thanks for the update. Don't know how mine are progressing. I'd have to bring out a ladder to look in the nest and I'm afraid it would drive the mother robin away. I don't hear any noise in the nest but the parents sure scold when I need to go in or out the front door.

The nest is looking smaller and smaller. :) Lots more feathers in a few days too. Hope the mom doesn't abandon them with the frequent picture taking.

Gladstone

Progressing well. It must take a lot of food for the parents to feed these little growing guys.
Thanks Laura.

goingsilver

They are looking good Laura, thanks for the update.
