PLG. . It is fun to joke about small things. I e-mailed this to several people and all were amused. I live between 2 major faults and we are always aware of possibilities. Fortunately it wasn't a quality craft beer!
Thank you, TS7, BJ, PG, and Ank. :)
(It's fun to joke around about the harmless ones ones, but I do sympathize with those who have experienced the truly destructive ones, of course. Japan in particular.)
bj anything under a 5 is not too bad in this country. In CA we had one at 5.1 and it shook the house but nothing happened in the area. It depends, there that word again, on the building codes and how they are enforced. In the US buildings in the quake areas are built to withstand shocks and do. This was an unforeseen disaster of biblical proportions and nothing short of a miracle could have prevented this.
Believe it or not, I think they did have aftershocks. I read in the paper about a week later they started hearing the same booming sounds that they heard during the earthquake! Crazy!
Hi Julied! -- I'm a couple hours north of Clintonville. I tried to post another photo like this, but it was too small to work. It was a picture of a picnic table and chairs with one chair tipped over, and it said, "Clintonville earthquake -- We will rebuild!"
