It went up to 6 today Dagmar and the lamps in the coops were turned off but these guy still had theirs. They're the spoiled group, at least for now. Who knows what will happen when they move outside in a couple of months.
It's nice to see them all again. With the temperatures you have been having I also would stay under the heat lamp. :))
Thanks Faye, it's been a fun year for sure :-)))
You're welcome Lorna.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Edie!!! :)))
Great to see them all. Thanks Edie.
No Mary, I don't show mine, they are just a hobby. I did years of dog shows, then cat shows and I'm all showed out :-))))
Ardy I did manage to get the lens out to take these but it took a long time. I tried this morning because there was such a colourful sunrise from my bedroom but by the time I finally got it working all the colour was gone. Yes, hard to believe that's it's been a year since I joined. I have so much fun here with all my new friends but I must say that I think it's been to the detrement of my health. The year before I had managed to drop my weight by walking the dogs 3 times a day and I felt much more fit. Now I'm back to my sedentary ways and realize that I will have to start cutting back and look after myself. Hugs back at you Ardy :-)))
Tuesday, January 13. A very special day for many of us on Jigidi You signed on for the first time. Happy first anniversary. Hope there are many more. ♥ Hugs.
My hairdresser raises chickens too. Wish I knew more about them. I think they are some kind of Japanese Banties. ???He takes them to several shows a yr. & does quite well.Do you show yours too?
Edie, I can't believe this has been here almost all day and I just found it. My favorite chicken and his harem. You are all looking good. Thank you. You must have gotten the camera working again. Have a good night.
Sorry, used those up years ago Florrie :-)))
;-))Spare hormones of any kind in this direction please - I ran out ages ago!!
Nope hormone free here Jan. I do regular dope testing on them ;-)))
The lamps are off right now in the coops PJ. Usually when it gets around -5 to -10 I'll turn them on. Right now it's 0 and the overnight low is -2 so they'll be fine. The five upstairs get special treatment :-))))
Whew, thanks, Edie, I thought we were talking growth hormones, here! LOL :)))
Well, I can understand that they all want to be close to the heat lamp - it is mid-winter....So fine that they are living peacefully together,PJ
I beieve you're right about Suzy and Sally Barb and also think Speckles is out front with Chicklet but not 100% on that. Sometimes the camera can distort their size but Cloud is noticeably smaller than Speckles.
I think that may be Speckles in the front Jan. She's the boss up there now and that's why she's probably next to Chicklet. She's a mixed breed and bigger than Cloud.
Well they have become a gang of sorts I guess Marilyn. We'll see what happens in the spring when everyone has to be rearranged again.
I have 3 heat lamps and space heater for the cat who lives in the basement so I'm sure I'll be hearing about the electrical bill Jan but it's always high around here so nothing new.
Or maybe that's Cloud hanging back there and Speckles at the front?? :-)))
Hmmm, let me guess ... from left to right we have Suzy, Sally, Chicklet, Cloud and at the back, Speckles. Glad to see them enjoying the warmth and posing just for us. Thanks, Edie. :-))
Thanks for the update. Cloud is huge!
I just thought of this old song when I saw this picture!Hail, hail, the gang's all hereWhat the heck do we careWhat the heck do we careHail, hail, the gang's all hereWhat the heck do we care now
That is what I wanted to see, chickens being warm. I don't envy your electric bill coming up soon.
