I can tell the boys from the girls at night. When you shine a light at them the boys eyes will glow red and you can see the size by the distance between the red dots. When the dots get close get lost quick.

Two Boys for Two Clubs! Thanks once again photogent. I shall carry my clubs like a herculean god if I see them coming or perhaps just best to invite them to play bridge (on the bridge of course)! They are humongous.

I took my daughters to Lake Okeechobee when they were about 10 and 12, and as we walked to the shore we saw an alligator swimming by about 50 yards out. He immediately turned and swam towards us. I said, "Do you know why he's swimming towards us, girls?" No, why? "He saw us walk up here and he's coming to eat us." !!!TOTAL SHOCK!!! "So let's go back to the car and I'll explain about real, live alligators."

Hi plumpster glad to see you again. There was a slight breeze over the water that day.

I took this while hanging over the side but I removed myself from the edge as he turned to say hello. They look slow but the can strike like a lightning bolt when they have to and you are toast.

These are two of the largest gators I saw in all the years shooting in Florida. I would not want to meet them on a dark road at night.

It looks like eyespies might have made a hat for that one on the left.! : )
