This bird is not common in my area. They have been stopping at Rend Lake during migration for a couple years now, staying approx. 1 week. I was lucky enough to see them today. Hey are huge. They are 50" long with a 110" wingspan'

You're really lucky to catch them! I tried to catch some dolphins swimming once, took a lot of photos and the only thing I cought was water!
I posted 5 days ago a Peregrine Falcon which flies over Salto where part of my family lives, it's very rare in Sao Paulo state.

For several years they have wintered here, and I love to watch them. Sometimes they really put on a show, and I call it waterdancing! Nice shot, thanks.

They are calling for 7 - 12 inches of snow for us tomorrow!

Love this shot. Rare, indeed! You caught them at the right time and in the right flight position.

chickiemama

Thank you young man and jcarroll.

They stay approx. 1 week.

jcarroll

Absolutely beautiful, chickie!

photogent

Great shot chickster you have them on the run or is that wing. Whatever they are very large birds and far away from the seashore. How long do they stay for or is it just a rest area? I did not see the blue sign saying rest area.

chickiemama

Thank you snooker. I think there were 8 or 10 snooker.

snooker

Nice action shot of them. How many were there?
