I enjoyed stitching this tapestry of apples and grapes by Primavera. I changed the background colour as usual to compliment my own decor, but am not sure when it will ever get made into a cushion!
Thanks Sandy. Yes, Ardy, the picture is printed on the canvas in colour. There is such a thing as counted needlepoint, but you have the blank canvas and a pattern of stitches with colour codes and have to count the holes and create the image on the canvas yourself - a bit like counted cross stitch, as we call it here. I'm not clever enough to do that these days, since having the M.E. my brain wouldn't cope with that lol! Yes, uu123, it's very therapeutic - I love getting lost in it and forget all my ailments, aches, pains and problems lol!
These are all gorgeous. I've never done any tapestry. Is the pattern painted on the canvas? I see the color chart on the edge. Such wonderfully neat even stitches. Hope you can find a way to make use of these soon. They should be out and enjoyed. Thank you.
Yes, niccolino59, I can relate. I too work needlepoint, etc. and other than paying attention to what color I'm using, there isn't a thought in my head - it's wonderful.
Thank you for your kind comment uu123. Yes, I too, thought about making the grapes green or even red, but thought they might get lost in the greenery of the foliage, or blend in too much with the apples, so I decided to leave them as the original colour on the canvas. I had a lot of fun doing these - stitching keeps me sane lol!
