It was surely built with care and with an eye toward beauty, as the slanted boards would seem to me. AH well, off to other barns this week.
Sue, yes, I can see the opening under the roof edge, but I don't see any windows on the side- doors, yes; windows, no. We used to have horses in a barn the same size as this appears to be and it had windows up above so that they got sunlight. And looking inside, it looks pretty dark in there. I suppose there must be a good reason for it being that way. Regardless, it's very cool looking.
Also, if you look carefully in the front, you can see a window shape that I guess can be propped open. Also along the side, it looks as if there could be openings, door or windows. Maybe for livestock.
I think that high up, right under the roof edge, it may be open for some air flow and light. It is certainly an interesting design.
Sue, this is an amazing structure! I wonder why it's set up the way it is...especially because I don't see windows. But maybe the big spaces in the front are enough to add sunlight. The design (shape) is wonderful.
I took this photo in Tennessee, near where my granddaughter lived for awhile. It is still in use and is well kept as was the property around it.
Cool barn--love it!!
