I seem to remember one of my sisters, more coordinated than I, teaching my daughter how to play on the monkey bars. Wonder if she still can teach it? I have a bunch of grandkids waiting----!
Loved the monkey bars, especially the big boxy ones that would go up several stories.
Check out the death grip on the kid at the top middle... might be due to the brick he'd land on if he fell!Punkie, I have no stories to tell about monkey bars in my youth... but about being a monkey? Yes :-)
What great stories are being posted about monkey bars! Keep 'em coming!
My favorite playground equipment when I was in grade school. Back then girls were not allowed to wear long pants unless it was under their dress but it didn't stop some girls from playing on the monkey bars anyway! LOL
Groan - about 5 years ago I was chasing one of my grandsons around a playground, and he grabbed the monkey bars and swung across to the next structure. Silly me - I thought I could follow, having me the Monkey Bars Queen when I was a young un. Suffice it to say that I'm very glad they now have padded surfaces under such things!!
Don't even think about it.
Pardon me, CM, but that sounds like a photo op to me! (Jigidi has ruined me.)
LOL I tried swinging upside down on one of these a few years ago and had to have help getting off of it. Geesh
