This must be the king of the pigeons, so beautiful! thanks Rob
Thanks Floyd!AWW! Thanks Ami - you don't do too badly yourself :)))
Thank you for taking and sharing your photos with us Robyn! I love seeing the images you post!
Great to see the pigeon resting in the flowering tree. Thanks Rob.
I can actually hear them flying around at the moment Shirley - with their distinctive 'whirr' noise! It sounds like there are quite a few here in the SE of the state - Prue has them at Hazeldene too!! Thanks Shirley.
Oh he's looks so cute in the Jacaranda tree, they are gentle birds, we have them nesting in the garden, they are always here.
Thanks Nicky - they visit us regularly here.
What a stunning bird - never seen this one before. Don't think we have them in England Uk.
Thanks Prue - next doors feeder gets a mixture of birds & we haven't noticed any fisticuffs among them! The Lorikeets are first in and the rest get what's left!! The rainfall sure is patchy - I'd LOVE to get 60mm, it's sooo dry!!Thanks Barb! He's a bit smaller than the usual pigeons Aggie - but I like them better! Thanks!LOL!! Sure does snooker - thanks :)))Thanks Colin :))Yes - he's a pretty bird Dave - and it was just luck with the Jacaranda flowers as I was at full zoom!! Thanks! Thanks Suzy - I'd rather have these the usual 'rats of the sky'!!!
what a pretty bird! So different than our pigeons here.
It has interesting markings on the back, too. You caught that flower cluster by it just right, Robyn!
Heh-heh! I think he's all of a tizwoz ;>)
Looks like he stuck his toe in an electrical outlet. :)
Looks like a fair sized bird, Rob - I like the crest on his head.
Great picture, Robyn :))))
Robyn, we love the crested. They are so gentle and non-aggressive. At one stage we were feeding birds at 4 every afternoon and there would be about 80 waiting on the power line. Then, along came the lorikeets and a few extras. The crested were bullied, so we ceased the practice. Nice shot. Thanks. (BTW, only 10.5 the other day. Not too many kilometres away, they got 60!)
Thanks Beekay - and - yes we do seem to get lots - which is really great!!
Great capture Robyn! Birds seem to like this tree of yours!
Thanks Deborah! They come to the bird feeder next door with the Lorikeets! And I loved your deer - he was cute! I'd be lost without a zoom too!!
I've never seen a crested pigeon, Rob. Thanks! And I'm glad you found the pics of the buck?it was pretty cool to have him wander around and not worry about me. Although, I have to admit, a zoom lens comes in handy! Still, he wasn't that far away.
Wonderful shot! Thank you, Robyn!
Thanks chookie! This morning we had a big Scrub Turkey up there - and all the local birds were dive-bombing him!! They normally only scratch around in the leaves but this one has decided to have a rest, and he's copping hell!! It's hard to get a photo of him - as he is just a dark silhouette! Thanks Colin!!
Great shot, Robyn! Thanks :)
You sure get some beautiful looking birds sitting up in your jacaranda tree, rob!!
