It is a field rat...but apparently a young one with very little sense. We have 6 dogs and two cats and that usually deters the field rats from coming into the yard, but this little guy didn't seem to think them a problem....and I don't know of anything a rat doesn't like.................

The visitor appears to be a rat. They also like avocados.

I remember a fig tree we had that grew up through an old tire every year.
