Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I initially had this puzzle all tricked out, but I decided it was way too ungapatchka (Yiddish for "overly ornate, busy, ridiculously over-decorated, and garnished to the point of distaste" [Urban Dictionary]). I tossed it out and simplified it and brought it back to the point of beginning. I hope you all enjoy it.

Oh Martha, I'm so very sorry to learn of your medical issues. I had no idea. I was going through my Jigidi email list the other day and saw your name. I too wanted to email you, but time got ahead of me. I'm so glad to hear from you, even if you do bear bad news. Can you write to me outside of Jigidi if you can find the energy? I'd love to talk to you about my fusion and nerve surgery and to learn more about what happened to you.

Gail, what kind of spinal surgery? I had some last December and did very well for about 2 months then the effect reversed and I am now in worse shape than before surgery. I do have some other problems not related which may have played into the problem. Now the neurosurgeon wants to do more surgery. My back was in very bad shape and I had been promised that it would not be 100%. Think very carefully before you have the surgery. I had a private room for 5 days, but I was anemic and needed 2 pints of blood so the doctor ordered it. It was in a special intensive care unit and I even had a 2 room suite! I kept wanting to have a conference in the conference room but that sounded too much like work and I have left that world behind. I have meant to email you, but life has been pretty dismal for me, so I have not had the oomph to do anything more than the absolute necessity. If I do not email you before, good luck on the surgery. I hope to email you before then, but, well...

octomom

You're so funny, Jill. That's it ~ I'm saving myself. I never knew it would come in handy!

TheLittleBlueHat

Forget him, Gail! Plenty of handsome surgeons to pursue.

You have a healthy amount of pride, Gail, and rightfully so. If you are never on the leaderboard, it is simply that you are saving yourself from Jigidi peril. It's in real life that you engage in risky behaviour!

octomom

Well, then, I guess no tryst for us. And no Chanukah gelt for you.

patsquire

Yeah, 550 miles, count on it babe. I'll be there with bells on. NOT!

octomom

NOT. Careful what you say. I own your shape-shifter-ability. Be nice to me and come visit me in the hospital, where I'll be for at least three days. Morton Plant, Clearwater, Florida. I'm hoping for a private room so we can have some hanky panky. What say you, my dear ex? Not to worry about our lelabug ~ he's always having drunken fantasies.

Jill, since I'm never on the board, does that mean I have no pride???

TheLittleBlueHat

Jigidi is definitely not a safe place. Danger lurking around every puzzle corner. I'm constantly falling off the leader board and damaging my pride.

patsquire

Jeez, you're having spinal surgery next month, Elfie (Hanne) had knee surgery this morning (she's fine and already walking on it a little), lelabug's claiming to have the DT's and dreaming about giant four-legged fish! IS JIGIDI A SAFE PLACE - OR - NOT?!?

octomom

Oy, Francine, Mr. Squire is sitting atop you on the board, and I'm sitting atop him. He's a squished sandwich.

Mr. Squirt, not a peep from you..... but please hold the hen until after my spinal surgery in January.

patsquire

Hmmmmm, well I've still got one leftover Cornish game hen in the fridge. I suppose I could mail it to you...............

bookish

Eyecatching, great puzzle. Thanks, Gail. (!even made the board which is rare!!)

octomom

I've been called worse, Ms. Chrissie.

Good for you, Pat, for making such a wonderful meal for yourself. You'll make up for being alone at Christmastime. Where was my invite for one of those hens? I haven't had one of them in many years.

patsquire

This year my Thanksgiving was at home. I cooked two little tiny Cornish game hens, and about 15 other goodies graced the table (no soup, no nuts but everything in between). The kids were at my daughter's house in Virginia and their mom was with them. It was a happy day with all the cooking and the calls from the girls and the grandkids. And my Christmas will be with them in about three weeks, so all is well!

foxymoron

Doofus :-))

octomom

Cellar gare as well ... and dat's lyfe.

foxymoron

It was meant as "I really like it" - an example of things getting lost in translation. Cellar vee :-)

octomom

I couldn't find it on your site, Jill. I ran it through Translate.com and Google Translate under Yiddish (which is a variation of German) to English, and still nothing. I'll just have to take Chrissie's word for it as meaning "simple is good"!

TheLittleBlueHat

Gail, I just googled that phrase & found it on this page:
http://www.linguanaut.com/english_yiddish.htm

octomom

It's nice to hear from you as well, Pat. Did you have a good Thanksgiving with your daughters?

Thanks for your input, Shirley. I appreciate it.

Chrissie, it's wonderful to see you on Jigidi. But, on Translate.com, your words translate to "Me gefelt it good zeyer", and on Google Translate, they mean "I gefelt it Zeyer good". Both found it to be some form of German, so I don't quite know how to respond, other than to say thanks for the sentiment!

Thanks, Willy. It always pleases me when you enjoy my puzzles.

ladywil

Great design with great colors.

foxymoron

Mir gefelt es zeyer gut! Simple is good :-) Thanks, Gail.

Shian2

I like it just as it is, Gail, wouldn't change a thing, Thank you.

patsquire

This is wonderful. I haven't had my computer turned on all day, and as I fired it up a few minutes ago I was wondering about you. And here you are! And I'd have missed you if I had come to Jigidi a few hours ago! Serendipity. Nice to see you. :-)

octomom

You're very welcome, jacki2.

Diane, I'm so glad you enjoyed this one.

dmac

Thank you, Gail- very clever. DIANE FROM N.J.

jacki2
