Thanks for your insight, Pilley. didn't know the Navajo did similar things. I think it must be a hell of a job to get the patterns and drawings just right.
Some of these are sealed on the top but not all and the sand is packed very tight. The Navajo Indians in the SW USA do some of the same art and sand paintings.
I think making one of these is rather time consuming. But suppose a tourist should buy one of these. I think it would all be shaken up when he gets home. Unless it's not just sand, but a mixture with glue or something like that.
