Eyelash viewed under a microscope

"Wow, hideous and fascinating:" (see laurajane) times 1000! I am pulling them all out as I write...oh, ok just the ones that come out with a gentle tug. Are they good mites or bad mites?

@ mpilnadyful: They're actually Demodex, which are tiny mites that live in your eyelashes and eat dead skin cells and the like. Kind of makes you want to pull your eyelashes out, right?

So then, the little ones must be the Eyelash's babies??? And where's the mascara? Love these close ups. Thanks for finding and posting them.
