Looks like somewhere in New England. The tides are large and require docks to be built with the ability to float up and down with the rise and fall.

It doesn't look too far north, however, since it would need a larger "swing" for the larger tide swing.
The Bay of Fundy is supposed to have 50 foot differences. This dock wouldn't work for 25 feet up and 25 feet down.
