Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I took this photo off the downstream side of Hoover Dam. Things in this photo are larger than they look. If you look in the lower right corner of this photo you can see a small sliver of the Colorado River. From the river to this cement structure it is approximately 200 feet. It is another 500 to the top of the canyon above this structure. Some how this structure was built on the canyon wall and I can not figure out how they did it. I also can not figure out what the purpose of this thing is. I parked and walked across the dam when I was here over a year ago. The size of every thing is pretty impressive. The dam is about 1200 feet in width and 726 feet in height. At its base it is 660 feet thick. That's a lot of concrete.

sylviasue, this is Terry. I spent most of today at the Desert Museum. I think I got some good shots. I spent the last hour of the day walking around in the desert after the rain. I realized I had driven by deserts a few times at 70 MPH, but today was the first time I ever walked around in one. After I get home, I will be posting photos from your area. Thanks for writing. Terry.

Hi back to you sylviasue....how amazing that you met Terry in Tucson! I'm glad he told you about Jigidi! We have met so many great people on this site. Glad you'll now be a member of the Jigidi family. Thanks for writing!

Hi Sue. I met your husband on a walk in Tucson yesterday. He mentioned this site. I love jig saw puzzles, and beautiful photography so this will be a new fun site for me. Terry, I hope you have fun in southern AZ.

Pretty neat. I think I saw something on tv a while back, about this, but I sure can't remember what it was. Probably never will. thanks. connie

It's amazing, what we can construct! I never imagined that we could build something this massive, and it lasts for a l-o-n-g time!
