"San Francisco in 1909" - by Kinkade
"One of three first published paintings of Thom's work. Note: Thom is driving the horse carriage on the right hand side (you can tell by Thom's signature red and black plaid jacket). A view of the Ferry Building (in center) reminds Thom of a time where automobiles were scarce and people used ferries and cable cars. The Ferry Building has also been described as the "Statue of Liberty" of the west coast; a place where immigrants go through to gain access to the United States. The San Francisco Chronicle Building is on the right. This also shows the city reborn after the huge earthquake occurred on April 18, 1906. The original hangs in the Ferry Building in San Francisco to this day."
