Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I found a new toy!!! Oh boy, oh boy. I promise not to overuse it, but it is fun, but a bit limiting so far. Anyway, for those of us in the States, have a great 4th! Truly a wonderful holiday. Let's see those smiles!

Yes, Judy, other than creating puzzles, sleeping could be considered the hobby that I excel at. :-)))))

HeyJudeNM

zzzz, glad you found and enjoyed doing this. I absolutely love your avatar. Is sleeping your number one hobby??

ZZZZ

Judy, I wanted to solve this one before and I'm finally getting around to it. It was definitely fun. Thank you very much. :-)))))

Happy "filled with scones" 4th!

Yup, we like 'em :-) Only played with the programme for a little while but worked out the 'add' function. It adds the default green spiro on a 'layer' - the numbered tab just under the top command buttons. We can then either duplicate it on the same tab or add another one to a new tab. Use the Origin X and Y to move each spiro around. Change colours, stator radius and rotor radius, pen width etc for variations. Initial angle rotates the spiro. There's a small hint/help section on the web site which is quite handy. Render all shows all the spiros on one 'layer' but they can still be manipulated from there.
To save as transparent .png image use File>Export Image>Transparent Background>PNG. I think SerifDraw can open .png files? Keep on playing with it - best way to learn, my friend :-))

Chocolate scones, huh? You can have my share but a serving of strawberry shortcake would not go amiss :-)) Thank heavens for church family! Yes, I do wish I was there. Warmer weather and no long flight!

HeyJudeNM

Sally and Foxy, Happy 4th!!! So, you liked the spiros, huh??? I enjoyed making them but was wondering if you played with the program at all. I only got somewhere with the "add" button and the same basic shape came up. Then I just changed settings, but had no idea what it would turn into. It seems rather limiting, but perhaps you can give me some pointers?? I'd love that.

p.s. Someone brought some chocolate scones over yesterday. Oh, to die for!! The day before we had strawberry shortcake. With my roommate out of commission for another week at least, I'm gonna need to buy larger clothes! Our church mates are making sure we have our treats. Today is no exception and we have more scones.. Bet you wish you were here.

Thanks, Judy - much appreciated.

You sound as pleased as a kid at Christmas with your new toy, Judy. Didn't you do a spekkie job first off! Well done, chookie :-) Thanks for sharing the new toy with us. You're right, it's not super user friendly but I think we can work it out between us all :-)) It's fun playing with the parameters and seeing the different curves and shapes, isn't it? Looking forward to seeing more examples from you!

SMor2Ditto

HeyJudeNM

Gogie, Thanks for your nice comment. It is so nice to meet you. Where do you live? If it's in the States, have a very happy 4th. We're having a BBQ here and are hoping for no rain until very late. We seem to have hit the rainy season. We'll still have fun and share our happy day with lots of smiles. So, I'm hoping you pass along some smiles too!

HeyJudeNM

Jo, is that avatar you?? You look amazing and it appears you are smiling. Am I right??? I'm so glad to hear from you and am wishing you a happy 4th with many more smiles.

HeyJudeNM

Mandy, your comments always make me smile! Sorry I've been out of touch. Keeping things minimal around here right now. Hope all is well with you and you are having good days. Keep smiling. Sending you more huge hugs!!!!

HeyJudeNM

Diane, thank you for your glowing comment and please enjoy your 4th in NJ!! Smile!!

HeyJudeNM

Francine, the link is: http://mathiversity.com/Downloads
Hope you find it. It isn't very user friendly, and I don't think I have learned that much and wonder if there is a whole lot more to be learned. Let me know what you think. Have a great day.

Thanks!! Enjoyed!! Happy 4th!! Gogie

Judy, please would you mind sharing with me the name of this free program?

HeyJudeNM

Barb, it's always nice to get a new toy especially when it's free. I saw some of JB's new puzzle where he uses your material and changes or enhances it. You make a great team! Thanks for the nice comment and Happy 4th.

HeyJudeNM

Edie, oh thanks for the comment. I have seen Christmas lights set to music, and I know the grand finale usually includes the 1812 Overture, but that's all I know about. I love fireworks and "oooh and ahhh" with the best of them. I will try to have a nice relaxing day tomorrow and am ready for a nap right now. Hope you are doing well and are enjoying life. Hugs.

HeyJudeNM

Francine, glad you liked the new free tool. Life is fun when you discover new things quite by accident. I will have a nice 4th. I'm not doing anything special other than watching the wonderful fireworks on the television, and some that neighbors set off, even though it is illegal. Shhhhh. I won't tell. :-))

HeyJudeNM

JB, thanks for your input, and I'm glad you liked my spirographs. I saw your page and there are several puzzles I want to do, so I've added you to my favorites. Hopefully, I'll be solving some soon. :-))

tigress

Wonderful fireworks, Judy. Glad you found a fun new toy to play with. Thank you. :-))

2dogs7cats

I love fireworks Judy, especially the ones set to music. There are great competitions every year in Toronto with many countries competing. I used to go to them often before I moved. Thanks for a very enjoyable puzzle and happy 4th of July.
