Judged by the design of these stairs, I have to agree :-)

SMor2Ditto

Yes, and a mighty good one he was...:) :)

starlord

And so we learn another thing :-) Thanks SMor2Ditto.
I take it that was the architect.

SMor2Ditto

Arthur C. Erickson 1980....

never been down much of a slope. I don't go to dangerous places, once when somebody was pushing me they were talking and pushed my wheels over the edge of the pavement, tipping me out on the road. Now we stay by the walls. It also cured me of going to the fresh fish shop which is on the side of the docks, no way are they taking me there!

starlord

Go go Karl :-) Thought you named him 'Herbie' and had a huge 53 painted on the sides, June :-)
She just shifts into reverse, PJ... lots easier :-)

puzzeljac

Hi June with my late hubby I always walked backward when we had to go down. Maybe that's a hint for your motor. lol

juneshone

got one his name is Karl

starlord

Just lean over in the curves, Juneshone... vroooaaaam vroooaaaaaam...
Downhill is easy, but uphill you need an engine ... I think

juneshone

this is great, I hate going downhill in my wheelchair incase they just get fed up with me and let go lol. this looks a lot safer

starlord

Indeed it's beautiful and functional, Smllpkg :-)
I had no idea where it was, Cevas, so thanks for the additional information.
You're right in your comment, PJ and ... you're welcome :-)

puzzeljac

Star, thanks for this nice post.

puzzeljac

Here they thought about. This is great. Builders may take this for example. Mostly they put invalids away, somewhere in a corner. Cathy compliments to the Vancouver builders.

cevas

Very nice picture! Thank you Starlord. These stairs are at Robson Square in Vancouver! I was there on Sunday but I didn't think to take a picture of the stairs!!

smllpkg101

Beauty and function! That's what architecture is all about. This is great!

starlord

Good morning Pk... :-)
Smart architect who designed this, SMor2Ditto :-)

SMor2Ditto

Definitely stairs.... Built in ramp... Very clever... Thanks, starlord.... :) :)

pkin38

@ Sissel: there's an elevator just around the corner. I'll use that to go up and down for half an hour :-)
@ Bentley: it is for wheelchairs indeed. I think it's a great example of modern architecture.

bentleyd

Amazing steps, i would rather go up the ramp. Is it for wheelchairs? How thoughtful:-))

Sissel

Just use ½ hour running up and down every day - no weightproblems!! :-)
